Adopt me!
Wildlife rehabilitation includes a variety of expenses in order for their survival. Fundraising and sponsorship help our organisation but most of our funds come out of the pockets of our volunteers.
Adopting an animal in care means that you are supporting the carer to purchase food, medical care including airfares and other resources vital to their recovery. You will be every bit a part of the recovery journey with regulary emails and messages with photos and videos documenting their successes and trials. You will also be a part of their release back to the wild. You can adopt weekly, fortnightly or on every 20th.

Hercules was brought in from a gentlemen from My Pathways in Napranum after he noticed him on the ground distressed. He has a serious injury to his bottom and the top of his tailbone which appears as though something tried to eat him. He has to have regular chlorhexadrine baths to clean the wound and will receive antibiotics. He's still a baby so has to be syringe fed until he moves over to natural seeds and fruits. If his wound doesn't heal, or gets worse, he'll have to be flown to Cairns to see our Wildlife vet.
Hercules the baby cockatoo

Rescued from PDR with severe Concussion. He is recovering well and eats 3 - 4 large mice a day which cost approx $2 each.

3 new butcher bird arrivals in the past few days.. These 3, chops (left) django (top) and puffin (right) are all bunking in together as they are all young and will make release easier for them when they are ready. They will stay in care for a while longer yet, on a diet of meat at the moment they will progress to learn how to catch and kill their own

Mr Percival fell from the sky and landed in the backyard in Circular Way. He's starving and very undernourished. He needs buckets of mullet daily.

Miss Palmer the Palm Cockatoo

Miss Palmer is a Juvenile Palm Cockatoo, she is very special bird as it is super rare for one to come into care. She has now been with us since February and will still be with us form another year in order to have her fit and flying before release. She was found with a broken wing, after a lot of inital TLC she was brought up to a healthy weight and now the challenge is to make sure she keeps that weight and continues to strengthen her wings. She is a very fussy girl and only eats expensive nuts in the shell. She costs her carer an estimated $2,500 a year for food, let alone the extra $2,000 or so on habitat changes in her aviary and extensions. If you would like to adopt please let Us know, we are in need of help with her.
